Day of Service -- Since 2009, the Festival on the Hill has begun with a morning of Community Service at various locations around our neighborhood!

This year the focus is on Eutaw-Marshburn Elementary School 11, where teams will restore the painted games on the playground and plant beds by the front doors.

Works starts at 9AM and is over at 11AM.

Please come to 1624 Eutaw Place at Wilson St. if you want to garden. Master Gardener Betty Billiske will direct planting of mums, black-eyed susan and lamb's ear in 7 foot square beds on either side of the blue front doors. Please bring shovel or trowel if you have it, and dress appropriately!

Please come to McMechen St. at Madison Ave. if you'd like to paint on the playground. Paint has been donated in part by Belle Hardware! Please bring paint brushes or rollers if you have them, and dress appropriately!

And thanks in advance for helping out! If you have questions about the day of service, please phone Monty Howard at 410-243-2902.

Community and Nonprofit Organizations who would like to have a display, please e-mail Bill Wells at
